NOT TO MISS! Dagyang sa Calle Real!

This Dinagyang 2020, Dagyang sa Calle Real will be replacing the Kasadyahan Festival on Saturday, January 25. In lieu of cultural performances showcasing different festival attractions around Iloilo and the rest of the region, the Dinagyang 2020 Organizing Committee will be bringing back the merrymaking or sadsad of the Dinagyang of old!
Sadsad or merrymaking is a festival revelry that mostly includes streetdancing of the revelers together with the tribes. With its comeback, the historic Calle Real lends the perfect backdrop to the coming together of all Ilonggos and visitors to the deafening beat of the drums! And there’s more!

New to Dinagyang? Here are some fast facts about Calle Real:

If you’re coming to Iloilo to watch Dinagyang 2020, Calle Real is a must-visit area in downtown Iloilo City. Calle Real is Spanish for Royal Street and is considered as one of the country’s heritage central business districts, the other one being Escolta in Manila. It is replete with history and other must-do and must-eat attractions. Although it is still generally called Calle Real, the name of the street where Calle Real stands is actually J.M. Basa Street, named after Jose M. Basa, a patriot friend of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
